Obituary
Lena Stroehl
Mrs. Joseph (Lena) Stroehl, 83, Lidgerwood, formerly of Wahpeton, died Sunday, Jan. 18, at St. Gerard's Hospital, Hankinson. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, at the United Methodist Church in Wahpeton, Rev. Norman E. Winkelman officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Cemetery. There will be visitation beginning Tuesday afternoon and continuing into the evening at the Walby-Frank Funeral Chapel in Lidgerwood and at the church for two hours prior to service. There will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at the chapel.
Casket bearers are Lawrence Stroehl, Donald and Stanley Loll, Harvey and Clifford Kraemer and James Schultz.
Lena Loll was born Sept. 11, 1897, in Summit Township to Edward and Amelia Loll. She attended rural schools in Summit Township. She married Joseph Stroehl Oct. 11, 1917, in Great Bend. They farmed southeast of Lidgerwood until 1949 when they moved to Wahpeton. Mr. Stroehl died Feb. 5, 1967 and she continued to live in Wahpeton until 1976 when she moved to Dakota Estates in Lidgerwood. She lived there until 1 1/2 years ago when she moved to St. Gerard's Guest Home in Hankinson. She was a member of the Wahpeton United Methodist Church and she did considerable sewing.
Survivors include two sons, Leonard, Lake View, Ark.; Earl, Winslow, Ariz.; one daughter, Mrs. Bernard (Marie) Jensvold, rural Geneseo; six brothers, Ed Loll, Jr., Mesa, Ariz.; Elmer Loll, Hankinson; Harvey Loll, Wahpeton; Arnold Loll, Buena Park, Calif.; Ben Loll, Wahpeton; Oliver Schultz, Wahpeton, one sister, Mrs. Luella Loll, Great Bend; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, five brothers, and two sisters.

The Garden of the Christus is located in the Memorial Gardens, which comprises the northern half of the cemetery.
