Obituary
Grace M. Ward, 72, Minneapolis, Minn., formerly Wahpeton, died Friday, May 16, 1986, at Colonial Acres Nursing Home, Golden Valley, Minn. The funeral service will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the United Church of Christ (Congregational), Wahpeton, with Rev. Charles T. Jones, Minneapolis, officiating. Internment will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens, Wahpeton.
Visitation will be this evening (Tuesday) and Wednesday until 11 a.m. at Vertin's Wahpeton Funeral Home and also at the church prior to the service.
Grace Ward was born April 25, 1914, at Wahpeton, to Elmer and Anna (DeVries) Ward. She was raised in Wahpeton and graduated from Wahpeton High School. She moved to Minneapolis and graduated from the School of Cosmetology. She worked for 30 years at Honeywell, Inc. as a thermostat assembler, retiring in 1976. She returned to Wahpeton in 1984, where she lived for 2 1/2 years, and then returned to Minneapolis. She was a member of the Honeywell Club.
Survivors include her step-mother, Mrs. Elmer (Myrtle) Ward, Breckenridge; four brothers, Lester and Donald Ward, both Mooreton; Ralph and Roy Ward, both Minneapolis; two half-brothers, Warren Ward, Longmount, Colo., Raymond Ward, Wahpeton; three half-sisters, Marion Ward, Moorhead; Mrs. Norman (Maurice) Fenske, Fargo; Mrs. Robert (Karen) Schmitt, Bloomington, Minn.
She was preceded in death by her parents and half-brother, Elwood.
Honorary pallbearers will be Oliver Evenson, Irvin Smith, Roy Jost, Herman Mueller, Victor Radig, Ralph Beeson. Active pallbearers will be Willard, Steve, Allen and Wilfred Ward, Neil Klosterman, and Todd Fenske.
