Philip F. Worner

Philip Worner, 95, Wahpeton Health Care Center, died Wednesday, Dec. 2 at the center. The funeral will be at 10 Saturday on Immanuel Lutheran Church, Wahpeton, with Rev. Ernest Bartels officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens, Wahpeton.

Visitation is Friday afternoon and evening with a prayer service at 8 at Vertin's-Wahpeton Funeral Home Chapel. There will also be visitation at the church for the hour prior to services.

He was born March 9, 1886 to Nicolaus and Maria (Strubel) Worner at Great Bend, N.D. He was raised in Brandenburg Township near Great Bend where he attended local schools. He went to business school in Mankato, Minn. He married Rose L. Radke Sept. 26, 1911 at Great Bend. They farmed in Brandenburg and Summit townships until 1946 when they moved into Wahpeton. He has resided at the Health Care Center since 1978. Mrs. Worner died Jan. 17, 1979.

He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. He served on the church finance committee for a number of years. He was the township clerk in Brandenburg and he was a township supervisor for Summit.

Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Elmer (Doretha) Schradick, Wahpeton; Mrs. John (Adah) Dyer, Madison, Wisc.; Mrs. Ray (LaVern) Hoganson, Fargo; Mrs. Don (Marlyn) Ehlers, Champagne, Ill.; a step-brother, Ornie Laboda, Minneapolis; a step-sister, Mrs. Hilda Pratt, Wahpeton; a half-sister, Mrs. Marie Heidner, Fergus Falls; 10 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and a great-great grandchild.

Casket bearers will be Milton Bohn, Clifford Johnson, Allen Milbrandt, Paul Harris, Elson Theil and Lloyd Heidner.
