Ann Marie Walker,
'a love of music'
Ann Marie Walker, 23, Thief River Falls, Minn., formerly Breckenridge, died Saturday, June 25, 1994, in an automobile accident in Thief River Falls. The funeral will be Thursday, June 30, at 1 p.m. at the Wahpeton Assembly of God Church, Wahpeton, N.D., with the Rev. Brad Morrow officiating.
Visitation will be Wednesday, June 29, from 3-8 p.m. with a 7:45 p.m. prayer service at the Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton. There will also be visitation Thursday from 9-11 a.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Wahpeton.
Ann Marie Walker was born Feb. 17, 1971, in Ely, Minn. She attended grade school in Galena, Mo., and moved to Breckenridge where she attended junior and senior high, graduating from Breckenridge High School in 1989. Ann was active in school, especially in chorus and drama. She worked as a nanny in New York for a year, returning to Breckenridge and enrolling in music at North Dakota State College of Science where she used her talent in the Wildcat Singers and drama. Ann also worked for the Wilkin County Group Home and then moved to the Thief River Falls area where she recently worked for Arctic Cat.
Ann was an energetic, outgoing person who enjoyed competition in talent and events, winning many recognitions for her musical talent.
Ann is survived by one daughter, Carly Jo Janssen, New Castle, Ind.; her mother, Annette Walker, Wahpeton; her father, Jerry Walker, Dilworth, Minn.; two brothers, Richard Walker, West Fargo; Jerry Scott Walker, Fort Collins, Colo.; a grandmother, Evelyn Walker, Oklahoma City, Okla.; several aunts, uncles and cousins; her biological father, Lewis Nelson, and his mother Ellen Nelson, all Remer, Minn.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Donald and Alice Smith.
