Obituary
Herbert L. Worner
Herbert L. Worner, 60, Breckenridge, died Sunday night at St. Francis Hospital, Breckenridge. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Assembly of God Church, Wahpeton, with Rev. Clifford Sanders officiating.
Visitation will be Tuesday afternoon and evening and Wednesday morning until 11 a.m. at Vertin's-Wahpeton Funeral Home Chapel, and at the church for the hour prior to the service. There will be a prayer service beginning at 7:30 at the chapel.
He was born June 20, 1920, at Wahpeton to Herbert L. and Elizabeth (Radtke) Worner. He graduated from Wahpeton High School and served in Company I, National Guard, which was activated at the start of World War II. He served in the South Pacific.
He married Geraldine White. The couple lived in New Mexico. He returned to this area working as a painter in Breckenridge and Wahpeton. He married Agnes Manock Dec. 8, 1962 at Breckenridge. They lived there.
Survivors include his wife Agnes, one daughter, Mrs. Ronald (Randi) Jones, Texarkana, Texas; three stepsons, and two stepdaughters, James and Bernard Manock, Breckenridge, Loren, Wahpeton, Mrs. Thomas (Louise) Miller, Moorhead, and Mrs. Jerry (Cecelia) Coffey, Wahpeton; 14 grandchildren; three sisters and three brothers, Mrs. Hazel Vaughn, Breckenridge, Mrs. Kermit (Joyce) Lee, Wahpeton, Ruth Worner, Jamestown, Clifford and Franklin, Wahpeton, and William, Fargo. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Military rites will be conducted by the Wahpeton American Legion and the Wahpeton Veterans of Foreign Wars.
