Marian Wall
December 20, 1927 — October 7, 2010
Marian Evelyn Larson was born on December 20, 1927 in Minneapolis , MN to George and Marie (Birkeland) Larson. She attended Minneapolis Junior Academy and Maplewood Academy , in Hutchinson , MN , where she graduated in 1945. Attending Union College in Lincoln , NE , she met Wendell Wall. They were married August 17, 1947 in Minneapolis , MN . After one year in Lincoln , NE they moved to Loma Linda , CA , where Wendell studied to become a medical doctor, graduating in 1953. After living in Washington , DC , for internship, they settled in Breckenridge , MN and later in Wahpeton, ND, where they lived and raised three children.
Marian was a lifelong Seventh-day Adventist, active in the Wahpeton Seventh-day Adventist Church , leading out in children’s Sabbath School departments and Community Services, including coordinating relief efforts for the residents of Fargo , ND following the 1957 tornado. She provided leadership to numerous social occasions for neighbors, friends and family. She was an enthusiastic and loyal wife, mother and grandmother, traveling to visit and attend many family milestone events. Wendell and Marian enjoyed lake living at Pelican and Ottertail Lakes , MN , and snowbird living in Riverside , CA . Marian’s health began to deteriorate following an automobile accident on November 17, 1997. She passed away quietly in her sleep at Lakeland Hospice House, Fergus Falls , MN , on October 7, 2010.
Marian is survived by her husband, Wendell H. Wall, Ottertail Lake, MN; three children; Constance Lund McCormick (Sherman), Detroit Lakes, MN Wendell A. Wall, Thief River Falls, MN; Jennifer Field (Kip) Riverside, CA; twelve grandchildren:
Christopher Wall (Darci) Rochester, MN, Jonathan Lund (Heidi), Glencoe, MN, Rebecca Reinke (Randy), Lincoln, NE, Nicholas Wall (Vanessa) Phoenix, AZ, Kari Wasmer (Jerry), Ormand Beach, FL, Matthew Wall (Michelle), Phoenix, AZ, Michael Wall, Loma Linda, CA, Heidi Johnson (Theo), Minneapolis, MN, Missy Moutray (Brad) Hoover, AL, Nina, Paige and Chase Field, Riverside, CA , six great-grandchildren: Keaton and Vivian Wall, Rochester, MN, Henry and Isabella Lund, Glencoe, MN, Blake Reinke, Lincoln, NE, Victoria Wall, Phoenix, AZ, and a daughter-in-law, Shirley Scott, Phoenix, AZ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Marie Larson, her brother, George Larson Jr. and a son-in-law, Hal Lund.
