Obituary
Orville Fred Wefel was born October 5, 1916, in Butler County, rural Clarksville, Iowa to August and Matilda (Schmadeke) Wefel. He moved with his parents to a farm in Mooreton Township, ND in March of 1920. On November 2, 1944, he married Luella Marie Muehler. The couple lived on the farm until 1974 when they moved to Wahpeton. He continued to be active on the family farm for many years. On April 20, 2007, he moved into St. Francis Healthcare Campus-Home.
He is survived by his wife, Luella, St. Francis Healthcare Campus-Home; his 3 children, Delores (Dennis) Parsley, Ralston, NE, Barbara (Gerald) Nelson, Battle Lake, MN, Gene (Cari) Wefel, Wahpeton; 7 grandchildren, Dawn (David) Harwood, Superior, CO, Deanna (Mikel) Smith, Orange Park, FL, Danette Parsley, Denver, CO, Jera (Carl) Cunningham, Mechanicsville, VA, Chad Nelson (Ana Petkov), Portland, ME, Katy (Craig) Barnum, Madison, WI, Sara Wefel (Fiance, Ryan Collison), Minnetonka, MN; 5 great-grandchildren, Carly and Regan Smith, Jackson and Maguire Harwood, and Caleb Cunningham; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his 2 brothers, Edwin and Melvin.
