Luella Wefel
November 7, 1914 — December 26, 2012
Luella Wefel, 98, Wahpeton, ND, died December 26, 2012 at St. Francis Healthcare Campus, Breckenridge, MN. The Funeral Service will be at 2:30 PM, Sunday, December 30, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Wahpeton, with Rev. Morris Stephens Jr., officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, from 2 PM to 4 PM with a 4 PM Prayer Service, at the Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton and one hour before the service at the church on Sunday. Interment will be at Fairview Memorial Gardens, Wahpeton.
Luella Marie Muehler was born November 7, 1914, to Henry and Anna (Laboda) Muehler near Great Bend, ND. The family later moved to a farm in Ibsen Township. ON November 2, 1944, she married Orville Wefel. The couple farmed in Mooreton Township until 1974 when they moved to Wahpeton. Orville died August 8, 2008, Luella moved into St. Francis Healthcare Campus –Home in March 2007.
Luella is survived by her three children: Delores (Dennis) Parsley, Ralston, NE; Barbara (Gerald) Nelson, Battle Lake, MN; Gene (Cari) Wefel, Wahpeton, ND; seven grandchildren: Dawn Harwood, Superior, CO, Deanna (Mikel) Smith, Fleming Island, FL; Danette Parsley, Portland, OR; Jera (Carl) Cunningham, Mechanicsville, VA; Chad Nelson (Anna Petkov) Minneapolis, MN; Katy (Craig) Barnum, Madison, WI; Sara (Ryan) Collison, Independence, MN; eight great-grandchildren: Carly and Regan Smith, Jackson and Maguire Harwood, Caleb and Gabriel Knox Cunningham, Cash and Colt Barnum, sister-in-law, Pat Muehler and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Orville, parents, Henry and Anna Muehler; six brothers, Herman, Richard, Edward, Arthur, Alvin and Ewald Muehler and sister-in-law Alma Muehler.
