Obituary

Warren R. Adam, 70, Wahpeton resident

Warren R. Adam, 70 Wahpeton, N.D., died Thursday, Jan. 16, 1997, as the St. Francis Medical Center, Breckenridge, Minn.

The funeral service will be Monday, Jan. 20, at 2 p.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Wahpeton, with the Rev. Edward Rutter officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Wahpeton.

Visitation will be today (Sunday) from 3-7 p.m., with a 6:30 p.m. prayer service, at the Vertin-Munson Wahpeton Funeral Home. There will also be visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.

Warren R. Adam was born Mar. 23, 1926, near Martin, N.D. He grew up and attended rural school near Martin, and worked for his father on the family farm. On Nov. 11, 1945, he married Doris Bjorke in Martin. They lived near Martin then moved to Harvey, N.D., where Warren started working for Otter Tail Power Co. In 1972 they moved to Crookston, Minn., then to Wahpeton in 1973, where he was foreman of the transformer department for Otter Tail Power. He retired in 1989, after 43 years of dedicated service with Otter Tail Power Co. He continued to live in Wahpeton with his wife Doris.

He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Wahpeton, and a former member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Devils Lake, N.D., where he was very active. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He also spent much of his time at home with his workshop, feeding birds and pampering his rose bushes and apple trees in his backyard.

Warren is survived by his wife of 51 years, Doris, Wahpeton; two sons and two daughters, Judy (Roy) Harvey, Brookville, Ind., Dwight (Roberta) Adam, Fergus Falls, Minn., Janet (Marvin) Goss, Richey, Mont., and Bruce (Sandy) Adam, West Fargo, N.D.; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers, Elmer (Minnie) Adam, Oakes, N.D., and Martin (Mildred) Adam, Kent, Wash.; and one sister, Lenora (Albert) Kemmit, Annamouse, N.D.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, David, in 1981; a son-in-law, John Robertson; and one sister, Alvina Wagner.
