Obituary
Dorothy Anderson was born March 23, 1913, at Cavalier, North Dakota to Alex and Nellie Mae McGregor. After graduating from Cavalier High school she was employed as a secretary to the Cavalier county attorney.
She married Rolf Anderson of Bygland, MN on Feb. 5, 1937 at Grand Forks, ND. The couple lived in Grand Forks until WWII started at which time they moved to Chicago where Rolf worked as an inspector for the Air Force. The couple returned to Grand Forks after the war and later resided in Bismarck.
They moved to Wahpeton in 1971. She worked as a volunteer for many years at the St. Francis Hospital. Dorothy enjoyed her flower garden, needlework, reading and crossword puzzles.
She is survived by one son, Dennis (Donna) Anderson of Deer River, MN; one daughter, Joann Short of Lamoure, N.D.; three grandsons, Scott (Paula) Anderson, Andover, Minn., Thomas Anderson, Minneapolis, Dennis Short, N.C.; and one granddaughter, Sheila Anderson, St. Paul; three great-grandsons, Gregory and Christopher Anderson and James Short; and one great-granddaughter Crystal Short.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rolf; three brothers; and two sisters.
Location
The Garden of the Christus is located in the Memorial Gardens, which comprises the northern half of the cemetery.
