Minnie Arnold

Mrs. Minnie Arnold, 82, Wahpeton, died Wednesday, April 20, at the Wahpeton Health Care Center. The funeral will be at 10:30 Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Wahpeton, Rev. Ernest Bartels officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens, Wahpeton.

Visitation is this afternoon and evening (Friday) at Vertin's-Wahpeton Funeral Home and at the church for the hour prior to the service.

She was born Oct. 22, 1900 at Westbrook, Minn., to Louis and Emilie (Bethke) Noding. She was raised and attended local schools at Westbrook. She married Albert Arnold Jan. 30, 1916 at Westbrook. In 1918 they moved to Great Bend, N.D., where they farmed in Waldo Township. They moved to Wahpeton in 1947. He died in 1973 and she continued to live in Wahpeton where she worked at Wahpeton Laundry and later as a cook for Linn-Harris Cafe, Kelly's Diner and Bud's Cafe and the Wahpeton Rehabilitation Center.

She moved to the Leach Home where she lived for three years before moving to the Wahpeton Health Care Center.

She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and an honorary member of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League.

Survivors include two daughters and a son, Mrs. Duane (Lucille) Norem and Mrs. Vernon (Jean) Bakken, both Wahpeton; Alfred, Michigan, N.D.; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, an infant daughter, three sisters, six brothers and a great-grandson.

Honorary casket bearers will be Harry Gustman, Rodolph Gustman, Carl Ziegelmann, George Motis, Harvey Thiele, and Albert Funfar.

Active casket bearers will be Elroy Stein, Leonard Tischer, Paul Shasky, Alfred Hubrig, Melvin Hubrig and Dallas Rossow.
