Obituary
Henry F. Friskop
Henry F. Friskop, 91, Wyndmere, died Saturday, April 24 at St. Francis Hospital, Breckenridge. The funeral will be at 11 Tuesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, DeLamere, with Rev. Elwood Skarpness officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Cemetery, Wahpeton.
Visitation will be this afternoon and evening at Dahlstrom Funeral Home Chapel, Milnor, and Tuesday at the church for the hour prior to the service.
Casket bearers will be Larry Deike, James, Kenneth Marcus and Gary Friskop, Henry, Jon, and Tim Johnson.
He was born Jan. 24, 1891 at Hall Township, Sargent County, to Mr. and Mrs. Helmine (Strandbakken) Friskop. He grew up and attended school there. He married Christine Kjos June 27, 1916 at DeLamere. The couple has farmed in the Wyndmere area since. She died in 1979.
He had served on the Wyndmere School Board and also his township's board for many years. He was also a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, DeLamere where he served as a deacon and trustee. He also served as a township assessor.
Survivors include two sons, Arvid Friskop, Wahpeton; Harold Friskop, Wyndmere; two daughters, Mrs. Lester (Gladys) Deike, Wahpeton; and Mrs. Jerome (Marlys) Johnson, Wadena, Minn.; two sisters, Mrs. Clara Martinson, St. Francis Home, Breckenridge; Hilda Friskop, Leach Home, Wahpeton; a brother, George Friskop DeLamere; 14 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sons.
