Obituary
Bertha Meyenburg
Bertha Meyenburg, 71, Wahpeton, died Thursday, May 13 at Royal Oak, Mich., while visiting. The funeral will be at 1 Tuesday at United Church of Christ (Congregational) Rev. Stephen Hanning officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be this afternoon and evening (Monday) at Vertin's-Wahpeton West Chapel and at the church for the hour prior to the service.
Bertha Leathart was born May 9, 1911 at Fairmount, N.D., to Harvey and Elizabeth (Gilman) Leathart. She was raised in Fairmount and graduated from high school there. She graduated from North Dakota State School of Science from the business and secretarial program. She married William Meyenburg Aug. 3, 1935 at Fairmount. They lived in Wahpeton since their marriage. She was employed as a legal secretary for Warner and McMichael Law Firm in Wahpeton for 20 years.
She was a member of the United Church of Christ and had served as past noble grand of Clover Rebekah Lodge, Wahpeton, and was past worthy matron of the Wahpeton Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include her husband, a daughter, Mrs. Thomas (Claudia) Walton, McLean, Va., and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and a grandson.
Casket bearers will be Willard Eckes, Julian Olson, Ray Pazdernick, Lowell Hooge, LeRoy Busching and Eero Latvala.
