Carole Vigen

April 23, 1959 — November 8, 2014

Carole was born on April 23, 1959 in Breckenridge, MN to Duane and Arlene (Friskop) Lillestol. She grew up on the farm near Wyndmere, ND and was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Delamere, ND. She attended school in Wyndmere and graduated from Wyndmere High School in 1977. She then attended NDSCS for Secretary Administration and started working for the college while she was a student. This was the start of a 29 year career as a secretary in the Marketing and Communications Department at NDSCS.

Carole was united in marriage to Brian Vigen on July 23, 1983 at Bethel Lutheran Church. The couple have resided in Wahpeton and raised their three daughters. Family was important to Carole and she loved their summer vacation trips, camping with friends, the times spent at Long Lake, shopping with her girls, and going to the Lillestol 4th of July picnics at the family farm. She enjoyed her children's sporting events & activities and never missed any of them. She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the Twins, Vikings and Bison. She was a very caring and loving person and will be greatly missed.

Carole is survived by her husband, Brian, her daughters, Mallory (Mark) Olson, Madison, MN, Jennifer Vigen, Wahpeton, and Gina Vigen, at home in Wahpeton; her parents, Duane and Arlene Lillestol, Wyndmere, ND; her brother, Ron Lillestol, Wahpeton; her sisters, Laura Groen, Golden, CO, Lynne Lundberg, Jamestown, ND, Jeanne Kay Foster, Omaha, NE; her nieces, nephew, brothers-in-law, Brad (Jan) Vigen, Princeton, MN, Randy (Theresa Graves) Vigen, Wahpeton; and her sister-in-law, Linda (Dave) Kocher, Wahpeton.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, mother and father-in-law, Donald and Sally Vigen and brother-in-law, Lynn Groen.
